International Spotlight: Basshunter

He was born Jonas Erik Altbergin in Halmstad, Sweden on December 22, 1984

Is known for Djing Eurodance, as well as singing on his own tracks.

In 1999, Jonas began to produce his own music under the name ‘Basshunter’. His self productions were created by using his own computer software (FL Studio), instead of a music studio

It was at this time he released his 1st album entitled, “The Old Sh*t”, however it was his next album that would bring him closer to mainstream acclaim

In 2004, he released the album “The Bassmachine” on his own, and it was also at this time he became a DJ

With his popularity gaining, he then was contracted by Warner Music. From this he released his 3rd album “LOL <(^^,)>”

2006 saw the release of the first single, ‘Boten Anna’. This song would become an instant hit at home and abroad

Its popularity was so widespread, that it was rewritten in English and retitled, ‘Now You’re Gone’. This was done, so the single would reach a larger market abroad. It would later become #1 on the singles chart in the United Kingdom (2007)

An International version of the album would later be released that same year, due to the heavy popularity of the DJ. Other popular singles released abroad, were “Russia Privjet”, “Professional Party People”, and “DotA”

In 2008, he released the album “Now You’re Gone: The Album”. From this ‘Now You’re Gone’, ‘All I Wanted’ (DotA rewritten in English), ‘I Miss You’, and ‘Walk On Water’ were released.

In 2009, a deluxe version of this album was released with added remixes of, ‘I Miss You’, ‘Walk On Water’, and ‘Angel In The Night'

Has another album soon to be released at the end of September 2009 entitled Bass Generation. The lead single from the album is ‘Every Morning’

Look for Basshunter to once again hit the club circuit with his heavy beats and hard trance all around the world bringing Eurodance to everyone…
