Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday. This week we are going to take you back into the 70s, the year 1977.
Now Disco was a huge part of the decade, and became a staple in American Society. However, its popularity spread worldwide, and especially into the United Kingdom.
In 1975, a group that was founded by Americans, formed in Europe. Due to military duties, Johnnie Wilder and his brother Keith began to sing all over the continent, primarily in Germany (Where they were stationed), this is when they decided it was a fine time to add on. With the addition of Rod Temperton (UK), Mario Mantese (Spain), Ernest Berger (Czech Rep.), Eric Johns (Jamaica), and Roy Carter (UK), the officially became the group known as ‘Heatwave’.
In 1976, the group began to record their debut album, ‘Too Hot To Handle’ which was released later in the fall. From this would come a song that would have such an impact in future years, that even a movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, would take its title...
The Song would eventually be released in December of 76, and chart at its highest position at #2 in both the United States and United Kingdom Music Charts. It would also be covered by other 70s artists as well.
So here is your Throwback for Thursday, Boogie Nights
