MySpace Mondays... Josh Beat
Welcome back to another edition of MySpace Mondays. Today we are surfing through MySpace, taking you to the land of Sweden…
Sweden has many things to be proud of. They are the land of great sports, great furniture, and above all great Dance Music! Of course when a person thinks of the country of Sweden, then thinks of Music, naturally they will think of the great acts of the past. Yes, yes, ABBA & Ace Of Base were fabulous but I think we should delve in deeper. The past is great, but we must now look to the future, and the future looks bright in terms of Dance Music for this country. One such artist, I was lucky enough to come across through MySpace was DJ Josh Beat.
At the age of 12 this aspiring DJ had always had a fascination with music experimentation, especially when he was given his first computer. With the computer, he was able to create many music pieces; this mostly due in part to the computer program ‘Fast Tracker’. With this program, he was also able to mix and remix songs of all kinds… including his own.
When it was time for Josh Beat to display his DJ work, he would do so within the youthful community. He and his friends would go to different venues Djing, thus showing his musical prowess while honing his DJ skills. By the age of 18 though, he would decide that it was time for him to embark on a musical business venture. He would eventually learn the trade of the music industry, while also picking up the skills to mix new songs.
During this time, he would feel the need to better educate himself on such techniques by attending school. By doing so, he would officially become a Sound Engineer, in which he learned the necessities of studio & live recording, handling different music programs, sampling, as well as other skills instrumental in creating Dance & Electronic Music.
While back at home, he had decided it was time to take it to the next level by purchasing more professional equipment creating his own personal studio. He would begin to experiment with many more new beats, and creating a sound that was likened to trance music with a pop feel. It wasn’t until a few years later his sound would eventually evolve.
However, with some dreams there come consequences. During the years 2004-2007, the DJ would take a hiatus meaning no music would be produced. This was mainly because the business had not rewarded him monetarily, therefore he would be working instead of creating his own music. But during the summer of 2007, he would restart production again. His first works would be the track ‘Or Does It’. It was also at this time, he would officially become ‘Josh Beat’.
In the present day, Josh Beat has been hard at work making music. His most popular digital download is the track ‘Push Your Luck’. However, the song ‘Push The Needle’ is a sensation all of its own, as well as his newer works, ‘Make Me Yours’, ‘Push Your Luck‘, & ‘The Crush’.
So check him out on MySpace, you will be happy you did...
