New Music Tuesday: Albums Of The Week

Welcome to another edition of New Music Tuesday for the week of September 15th, 2009. Let's see what Albums are On Tap this week:
MUSE - The Resistance

Back with their 5th studio album, the English trio have certainly created a Rock-Symphony masterpiece this time around. The lead single ‘Uprising’ certainly piqued the interest of many fans and critics, so when the album was finally available for preview it did not disappoint. The first 8 tracks of ‘The Resistance’, are that of an Alternative Rock album, but the last 3 songs, Exogenesis pt. 1, 2, 3, invite the listeners to Classical Music Concert. Pianist & Lead singer Matthew Bellamy is on display in a spotlight of could be considered one of the best albums of the Fall. A must have for all MUSE fans, as well as other Music aficionados.

Drake - So Far Gone

One of the most anticipated hip hop albums of the fall season to be released, and the 2nd Studio album by the Canadian Actor/Rapper. Originally a mixtape, however, the lead single ‘Best I Ever Had’ and its follow up ‘Successful’ made it possible for it to become a full length album. Already heavily praised after its early preview, Drake is one of the best up and coming rap artists of the future. Backed by Lil Wayne & his young Money Entertainment group, he has fast become one of the rising stars of hip hop. Being an a multitasking artist, not only does he rap on the album, but sings as well. A must have for all this week.

Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson - Break Up

This weeks must have is a collaborative album of Singer/Songwriter Pete Yorn & Actress-turned-singer Scarlett Johansson. Originally recorded in 2006, the album itself was inspired by other collaborative works by Serge Gainsbourg and Brigitte Bardot. The 1st song to gain attention was the song ‘Shampoo’, when it was leaked on the internet in 2007. However the lead single from the album is the track ‘Relator’, which is reminiscent of Robert Plant & Alison Krause’ collaborative song ‘Gone, Gone, Gone’. A must have for this week.

Kid Cudi - Man On The Moon: The End Of Day

This is the debut album of the rapper/singer, and already has generated much success with the lead single ‘Day n Nite’ & ‘Make Her Say’. Unlike other hip hop albums, this artist goes against the grain, by displaying his electronic vibe with an alternative streak. This due in part to collaborative tracks that feature, Lady GaGa, Kanye West, Ratatat, Wale, & MGMT. Look for his 3rd single, ‘Pursuit Of Happiness’, featuring MGMT, to make a splash on the charts. A definite grab for all music lovers.

Uncle Kracker - Happy Hour

Finally back after a hiatus (due to delay), the Michigan rocker/sometimes-country crooner is back with his 4th studio album. The lead single, ‘Happy’, is an upbeat ode to what the album is all about. In fact, the entire album makes the listeners do just that, be happy. A must grab for the long awaited fans and those who thoroughly want to relax and have a good time.
